Warm and inviting

This was our first stop on our NZ adventure after leaving Auckland. I had heard in the US that the family owned motels are the best and were our friends right! The Symes, owners of the Aotearoa Lodge were pleasant and made you feel so welcome. Our room was large with a large deck attached. I love flowers anyway so the landscaping really interested me. An added plus was we booked an excursion with Darryl Syme, the owner of the motel who happened to also own the boat too. Lastly, the distance to town was only minutes away and we liked the idea of being away from the main activity.

A nice place to stay

Very friendly and helpful hosts. Rooms and amenities very clean. Nice communal feel in the evenings if staying in the studio rooms and relaxing in the guest lounge area which is spacious. Met some really nice people. Overall a nice place to stay. :)

Great hosts, superb location

This was our third stay in New Zealand and we enjoyed the area around Whitianga very much, especially after a tour organised by the hosts to show us around the Coromandel. We are interested in conservation and applaud the effort made to protect the kiwi birds and the Kauri trees. We will take many good memories with us and would like to come back for a longer stay on the Coromandel. Thank you
